Kicia Sears BA ’08, MA ’13, MPA ’16 is an Evaluation Associate, using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate and communicate the evidence-based impact of military-affiliated organizations on those they serve, while also supporting the Applied Research team on long-term research efforts. Prior to moving to this position, she provided the Entrepreneurship & Small Business portfolio of programs at IVMF with support in program evaluation, survey development, data analytics, and process improvement as well as providing writing and editing support across the IVMF. She began her work at the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families while completing a master’s capstone project, providing operations and management consulting to the Wohl Veterans Legal Clinic at the Syracuse University School of Law. At the Maxwell School, she focused on post-incarceration reintegration and reentry programs and policies.

Kicia joined IVMF after five years as adjunct faculty in the Syracuse University Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition. She also served as a writing consultant to graduate and undergraduate students in the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, and as an adjunct professor in writing at Le Moyne College.

Kicia holds a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She also holds a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in English and Anthropology, both from Syracuse University.
