The IVMF has grouped several resources below to help veterans, military spouses, and those transitioning to civilian life find training and employment.
Onward to Opportunity (O2O) is a free career training program that provides professional certification and employee support services to transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses.
The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.
Microsoft Software and Systems Academy (MSSA) provides transitioning service members and veterans, including those with clearance, with critical career skills required for today’s growing technology industry.
CyberVET is a fully-sponsored “veterans first” workforce development initiative dedicated to transitioning veterans, with no IT or coding background, to highly skilled and high-paying IT careers. CyberVET creates an immersive learning experience that hopes to transform our nation’s veterans into America’s next generation of IT professionals.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) initiative launched in March 2011 as a nationwide effort to connect veterans, service members, and military spouses with meaningful employment opportunities. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and military families return every day.
Heroes MAKE America builds connections between the military community and the manufacturing industry. Veterans are well positioned to succeed in a manufacturing career with skills, talents and training that are highly valued in the industry. Our signature program provides integrated certification and career-readiness training in partnership with local community colleges to prepare transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard, reservists and military spouses for rewarding careers in manufacturing.
The Home Builders Institute (HBI) is the nation’s leading educational resource for career technical education in the building industry. HBI provides its students with the skills and experience they need for careers in residential construction.
The organization offers pre-apprenticeship training, job placement services, mentoring, certification programs, and online learning across the country to youth, veterans, displaced workers and others who want to be a part of America’s trained workforce.
